Lily is 4!

Lily had a great fourth birthday! She started her day with a strawberry frosted donut, with a candle, in bed. The night before her birthday, she confessed that she didn't really like cupcakes, so we surprised her with a donut. She was thrilled.

Birthday Gifts
Lily requested a unicorn, which was easy to grant. But she also gave me a five minute, extremely detailed, description of the life sized "strawberry tree house" that she was hoping for. This girl dreams BIG. Charlotte found her a Strawberry Shortcake house that she though might be suitable. Lily loved it, and the girls played with it all morning.

Lily decided that it would be fun to go to the Easton Children's Museum on her birthday. Here they are doing a science experiment with water, oil and food coloring with one of the museum volunteers.

Charlotte couldn't wait to get to the woodworking room, her favorite part of the museum.

Lily is a natural fisherwoman. Here she is pulling up a basket of lobsters and crabs. Eat your heart out Rene.

Sammy enjoyed admiring that adorable baby in the mirror.

One of the favorite areas of the museum is the face painting area. The girls spent some serious time doing themselves up.

Lily's finished masterpiece. Notice Sammy in the background checking himself out with a cowboy hat on.

After some indoor fun, we went out to the amazing museum park. It is wonderful park full of natural structures and activities. Here is Sammy the paleontologist. He takes his work very seriously. In this area, the children use brushes and tools to reveal " fossils" buried beneath the sand.

After a fun day at the museum, Lily decided that she wanted to go to Friendly's for her birthday dinner. Yummy Monster Sundae!

Happy Birthday, Lily!

It is so wild that Lily is now 4. We have noticed that her baby voice has recently started to change and sound more grown up. Our "Little Sweetie" is growing up.

One of the first photos of Lily. Lily was a wonderful, sweet, joyful baby!

She weighed in at 8 lbs 15 oz. So tiny to us:)

Birthday Party Fun!

This weekend, we had a triple birthday party for the kids. Everyone had a great time, and we were happy to have so many people that we love there to share the day. We rented a water slide for all of the "kids" to play on.

Above, watch the video as Sam takes Sammy down the slide for the first time. Sammy loves water and excitement, so he thought it was pretty fun. Check the next couple post below for more pictures of the festivities.

More Birthday Party Fun!

Early on Saturday morning, 7:30 am to be precise, the water slide was delivered and set up. Naturally, the girls wanted to try it out as soon as it arrived. So, they were outside at the crack of dawn, waking the neighbors with screams of delight! The slide was pretty fast, so Lily liked to hang onto the side as she slid down.

The pool at the end was full of COLD water, but that didn't stop Charlotte. Her lips were blue at the end of the day.

The girls friend, Calvin, catches some air when jumping off of the side and into the pool.

After some water sliding, the kids decided to have some fun with the unicorn pinata. Check out the video...it is always fun to see kids scrambling for candy.

Even More Birthday Party Fun!

After some pizza for lunch, it was time to sing "Happy Birthday" to the guests of honor. Charlotte and Lily blowing out the candles

Partying is exhausting!

Little Sammy was so tired from all of the excitement, that he slept through most of his first birthday party.

Lily was very excited to open up some birthday presents. After all, her birthday wasn't until Monday.

Sammy woke up in time to open up some presents in front of an adoring crowd.

Thanks to all that were able to share this special day with our family. The day was great!

Charlotte's Golden Birthday

Today Charlotte started her special "golden birthday" with a cupcake in bed! A fun tradition that we did when she was four and continued this year.

Charlotte opened her birthday gift to find two books on how to care for a pet turtle. She was very excited when she found out that she is going to pick out a turtle as her sixth birthday present.

During the day, Charlotte chose to go to Chucky Cheese. Isabella, Sienna, and Elijah met us there for the fun.

There were tons of games that the kids could play. They loved it. Here they are picking out the prizes with the tickets that they won.

We took Charlotte out for dinner for her favorite "cheesy pasta." During the day, Charlotte whispered in my ear "I think that this is the best birthday ever!"

It really was a great birthday!
(Thanks to Liz, who taught us about "golden birthdays." Charlotte turned 6 on the 6th. A once in a life time event.)

Six Years Old?!?!?!?

It is so hard to believe that Charlotte is six today! When I look at these pictures, I feel like she was born yesterday. And then I think of how I can hardly remember what life was like before her.
