Charlotte lost a tooth!

After much wiggling around, Charlotte's tooth fell out today. She is pretty excited! Charlotte can't wait to put the tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy! I wonder what she will leave behind?
Charlotte was lucky enough to have friends over to share the exciting event. Nick, who has been friends with Charlotte since they were 6 months old, is an old pro at loosing teeth. Callie and Lily were very envious of the whole event.
Charlotte is growing up!!!! Sniff...

Messy Party

On Friday, we went to an awesome Messy Party, sponsored by our local MOMS Club. The kids had a great time getting ridiculously messy with their friends.

Sammy spent most of his time playing on the clean grass with his buddy Elijah.

Here, Charlotte and a friend are all clean, but just a few minutes later they were into shaving cream and cookie decorating!

Lily loved using flour to dig and play in. Flour gets very gooey when you go in the sprinkler afterwards. Lily had seriously sticky hair in the bathtub that night!

Charlotte is growing up!

You wouldn't believe what I found in Charlotte's mouth last night when I was brushing her teeth... A loose tooth!!! Her bottom left wiggles around a bit. Boy, they sure do grow up fast.

Strawberry Picking

Today, after so many days of rain, the sun came out!!! We headed over to Ward's to go strawberry picking with friends. There is nothing quite like the taste of fresh picked strawberries right out of the field.

Charlotte is thrilled that now that she is on vacation, she can spend tons of time with her good friend Isabella. Charlotte and Isabella no longer attend the same schools, so they didn't see each other as much as they would have liked this year.

Lily loves strawberries!!! She was so happy to be eating her way through the patch.

Charlotte filled her container until it was spilling over.

It was fun to have Grandma come along for the picking trip.

Lily and her buddy Sienna, riding on the hayride.

This was Sammy's first trip to Ward's Berry Farm. He loved the bumpy hayride, but was still too little to try some of those yummy strawberries. Maybe next time, Sammy.

Fun down at the beach

We had a fun visit with Great Grammie, Great Grandad, Nana and Rene on Saturday. It was cloudy, but the kids still had fun on the beach!

Butterflies and Praying Mantises

Charlotte and Lily got insect kits for Christmas this year, and a couple of weeks ago the actual critters got delivered by mail.

Lily received caterpillars in the mail, and watched as the caterpillars spun into chrysalis, and emerged as butterflies.

A few days after the butterflies emerged, we got to see the complete circle of life. We released the four butterflies into the yard. Needless to say, the birds were very interested... Three gracefully floated off, only after landing on both Charlotte and Lily, which was thrilling for the two.

Sammy found the hose to be far more interesting than the butterflies.

Charlotte received an egg sac filled with praying mantises nearly six weeks ago. The kids waited and watched patiently for so long. I was sure that the mantises hadn't survived, and then finally, hundreds of tiny insects came out of a sac the size of a walnut. It was amazing! We immediately let go all but five, and separated them into jars. Apparently, a hungry newborn mantis will eat everything and anything that it shares space with... We will keep the mantises for a few weeks for the girls to observe and then release them into the garden.

Lily's Last Day of School

Lily attended pre-school three mornings a week this year. She was lucky enough to have the same teachers that Charlotte had, and a class with many friends that she has known since she was a baby. Lily loved going to school, and can't wait to return in the fall. On the last day of school, her class had a "Hello Summer" party. I volunteered to help out, so I got to be part of the fun.

Lily loves to play in the sand table with her friends!

Parachute fun!
Lily has been singing the song "Come under my umbrella" ever since.

Lily created some "groovy glasses".

A party wouldn't be complete without popsicles! Yum!

Early Birthday Celebrations!

Because Charlotte and Lily were both born in August, they get to celebrate their birthdays early with their classmates at school. They loved being able to wear the birthday crowns that their teachers created for them two months before the actual date.

Monkeys

Charlotte loves to climb trees. Her Nana once said that if you want to get a happy picture of Charlotte, get her to climb a tree. This was her first time climbing our cherry tree in the front yard. She was so happy to make it up to the first branch, and now she spends all of her time in it. It is really tall.

Lily loves to hang from the branches!

This little guy is very, very busy!

These days, Sammy is keeping us all very busy. He is just so curious about everything.

Wonder what it is like under the chair? It is hard to get out!

Sammy has recently figured out how to climb the stairs.

He worked so hard to get to that bear.

Being a baby is alot of work. It sure tires all of us out!

Visit to Great Grammie and Great Grandad's Beach house

The kids love visiting Great Grammie and Great Grandad's Beach house. This was Sammy's first visit to Bayberry for the Season! At first he wasn't so sure about the sand, but after a while, he was his usual busy self. He crawled all over the place, and even tried eating some tasty seashells.

The girls enjoy the beach because there is so much to do! During this trip they spent some serious time climbing the tall rock sea wall.

On a rainy morning, we decided to get out of the house for a little walk. Naturally, the kids don't care what the weather is, they just want to be outside!

We decided to plant some flowers in Great Grammie and Great Grandad's planters. Charlotte and Lily loved choosing all of the colorful flowers at the nursery!

Mother's Day Flowers

Lily and I have been busy in the yard on her days off. As a Mother's Day gift, Lily planted marigolds for me at school. Soon after, we transplanted them into the garden. She visits them everyday, and they are beautiful!

Lily is collecting a bouquet of buttercups. One of the many reason that we are happy to have a yard full of weeds!
We have been busy with lots of fun activities this spring! We took a trip on of our favorite nature preserve farm with friends a couple of weeks ago.

We usually go to visit the sheep, which are my favorite. Lily was thrilled to find that the farm got some new miniature horses.

Sammy had fun visiting the animals, too!

Well, we are finally joining the blogging community. I have been thinking about it for about 5 months, now. I hope that you enjoy hearing about the crazy stuff that our three itty bitty's are up to!
